Club News
The year is gaining momentum, and it's time to think about celebrating the year that was.
Join us for our UQ Cycle Club Christmas party, to be held at @easytimes.brewingco
We've got some awards to hand out, and we're sure there will be plenty of stories to tell after the Club Championships, which are being held earlier that day at Nundah.
We'd love to see you there!
If you've not been riding much lately, come and join us on one of our regular bunch rides.
Westlake Wednesday for the win!

Before the year hits terminal velocity, the Exec would love to share our thoughts on the year ahead. We're thinking about how we can support cycling's sustainability, and we're keen to find new ways of working with other Clubs to ensure the sport we love thrives. We're also finalising our racing calendar - stand by to see some new formats and some old favourites return in 2025.
We'd also love to hear any of your suggestions and we'll do our best to answer your questions.
To make the conversation as accessible as possible, we've set up an online meeting on Sunday 3 November, 2024 at 6.30pm. Here's the link you'll need to register.: tinyurl.com/msaf4pum
And here are the details you will need to join:

What are you doing in October 2030?
We'll be attending the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Track Cycling World Championships at Anna Meares Velodrome!
There will be elite, junior, para-cycling and masters events - what a bonanza!
Congratulations to everyone who worked on the successful bid, including our own members Paul Jackson and Korey Boddington, seen here adding their stories and excitement to yesterday's announcement.
It might be raining now, but our Chief Commissaire has decided that this morning's criterium will go ahead.
The current band of showers is moving through, although wind is increasing.
Leave the deep sections at home, but know that a firm hit out, the coffee van and good chat with your fellow cyclists will warm you up!
Ride well. Ride safely.
It's not every day you get to pull on a rainbow jersey.
Congratulations to UQ Cycle Club member Brodie Chapman on her contribution the mixed team time trial's gold medal-winning performance in Zurich at the UCI World Championships.
We are so excited!

A huge congratulations to Chloe Bowen on her bronze in the U17 criterium. Fabulous result!
Congratulations to the Backside Boys: Andrew Friebe on taking home gold in the MM3 criterium, and James Bartlett on third in the MM2 criterium.
Wishing UQ Cycle Club member Brodie Chapman all the good things as she heads down the starting ramp to contest the individual time trial at the UCI 2024 UCI Road World Championships in Zurich.
Brodie has secured podium results in four of the five ITTs she has raced this year. It's her sixth Worlds appearance, but her first in the time trial.
Ride well. Ride safely.

This Sunday, it's Round 2 of the World Cup criterium. Held at Nundah, this is a hotly contested event in the UQ Cycle Club calendar.
We'll have the coffee van there to keep you fuelled and we encourage you to come before or stay after your own grade races to cheer on your mates.
There will be a brief pause between the grades to formally vote in the new Executive members.
If you haven't yet entered, here's the link: sim.id.au/uni/
This is a race available only to UQ Cycle Club members. If you're not yet a member, there's time to sort that before Sunday!
